|I've uploaded Pliant release 45.
It should be available, for the braves only, at
I have not updated the Pliant web site because
THIS IS NOT AT ALL A READY TO USE VERSION.
Also, it may be interesting for advanced Pliant users since it
clearly demonstrates how Pliant will look in a few months.
This release contains mainly the HTTP server with strong security (can be
accessed through the strong encryption proxy, prevents the browser to
bypass security through changing the URL options or sending bad forms,
and finally provides a marvelous security model for the database engine),
and the database engine.
The Pliant HTTP server know uses a database for it's configuration.
When not configured properly, you have to start it with:
pliant module /pliant/protocol/http/server.pli command 'http_server configure'
then access it at
it will ask you a user name and password that will give you adminstrator
If you want to get a first view of the Pliant database engine, don't read
the documentation: it contains too many informations related to the first
implementation that I have dropped because it was too slow and memory
consuming. Rather look at some example such as /pliant/admin/site.pli and
/pliant/admin/site.page that define the Pliant HTTP server configuration
database and provide the user interface to access it through a browser.
At language level, this should be a very stable release, including the
properties feature that was requested on the forum. The new generic data
types (List, Dictionary, Index) should now be ok.
