|I've put release 34 on the web site.
The web site is now also running release 34, so I have moved the old
HTTP server (running release 25) which handles the forum, to port 8080.
The forum will continue a few more days, then I'll start a real mailing
list on a new site, and stop the forum.
The new site contains a new 'The Pliant overall project' section.
This one is intended to specify more precisely the status of various parts
of the Pliant project, what I failed to do accurately in the single 'status'
page that was in the previous version of the site. I expect the new layout
to help contributors to stand and become project leaders or important
contributors on various parts of Pliant. It does not include yet the
conclusion from the various talks we had during the the ASPIC. These will
be included later.
About release 34:
It contains an a bit improved documentation (reordered headers, some fixes,
a few figures in order to avoid too boring layout, and the new blue points
feature). I hope you'll like the changes.
It is now truely possible to install Pliant anywhere on the disk, both under
Linux and Win32, and even to have several releases of Pliant running at once.
It also contains a better HTTP server with uploading capabilities and
basic authentification mecanism (clear text password).
I'll upload a new release with updated documentation for the HTTP server
in a few more days because I have still a few things to add, such as
providing the URL only if it has changed, or providing only a part of it.
What I'm most happy about this release is that it contains several
contributions, both in the code and documentation. Great.
See the changelog for details.
Now planning for release 35 is to add the last improvements to the HTTP server,
provide the first implementation of the database mecanism, and finish the SMTP
and POP3 services which are broken since release 26.
