|So, you have to deal with Marcus to see the most efficient way to work all
together. I'd like just to be informed what you choosed.
One possibility would be Marcus to assign you the documentation of some Pliant
application, then you ask me for raw materials, then write some consistent
content, and finaly it's translation to french.
As think a great startup opportunity is the photo editing and printing tool
because it's high value, so with a nice howto it could satisfy many individual
users and photo specialists, yet it's not very interesting for a university

As Hubert said, you have to define my job and respnsabilities, they can be different.
I think that, in addition of your global responsability, you must have the responsability of "/pliantdocs/babel/universal" part and "/pliantdocs/babel/en" part
and have to maintain them. you also have to determine the common tree of all documentations.
I propose that Patrice hace the responsability os "/pliantdocs/style"
I can have in charge the /pliantdocs/babel/fr/ part and I'll have responsability to maintain it.
I propose that "/pliantdocs/image/" skip as "/pliandocs/babel/universal/images/"
In spite of the bad improvement of my english, I think that I can propose first issues of parts of the english documentation
when, perhaps I am more involved than you, I think at the different servers...
In every cases we have to work in close collaboration and to look to other contributions.

|I think I can also have in charge the Windows features.

|Concerning the doc style, I will try to fix it in the middle of August.

It's been a busy academic summer for me. Hence the slow progress in the Pliant
documentation front. However, some good progress in developing a Pliant Web
application which will help me with the new administrative job I have at Ryerson,
and supervising students working in Pliant based projects.
Anyway, I agree with the task partitioning Michel mention in his message and new
directory path for the pliantdocs/image contents.
We, documentation developers, have to try to feed as many documentation related
questions to Hubert as possible. He is anxiously waiting for that.
Formulating (context related and meaningful) questions is not that easy to
elaborate. Unless you have already a good understanding of the subject at hand
and a good documentation structure in your head, it can be as hard
as writing the related documentation.
Since the photo application seems to be interesting, and I have no idea of how it
works, I will start a thread on that issue at another debate.
The styling mechanism documentation, which was in my frontburner for awhile, will
be moved to a backburner (I need more time to understand the archtecture).
The photo application seems to have a simpler architecture.

Can you be carefull to keep off your ~~ files (I think they are old ones)
when uploading or synchronizing or can you put them in an another place ?
Can you remove the existing ones ?
Thank you for all

Sure. I will do that shortly.
Those annoying files are automatically created by my text editor (emacs).

|For both of you
My purpose is not to update a whole pliant release but to update
/pliantdocs/babel/fr/ without perturbation on the main part and the english part.
In the past, I think Marcus or perhaps Hubert had restored Pliant witn a version
up to date for the core part but not with the french version I uploaded last year
and all the updated french version disapeared
As I had not seen the problem I have synchronized my computer with the so-named
updated version and MY updated version disapeared too.
Furtunately I had put the new version on "cig.no-ip.org".
I want to be sure not to do the same mistake for others and that the partial update proces was securely defined, for Marcus and me.
Hubert can you give us a precise instruction for updating "/pliandocs/babel/XXX/".

|Recently I have not used the tree synchronization tool to upload doc to the
pliant server. Instead, I have used the file upload method explained by Hubert
in the talk forum (under the 'tree synchronization' debate).
The file I upload consists of a compressed (gzipped) tar ball of my local
/pliantdocs/babel/en/ directory. Hence, I don't think this would disturb

|Thanks. The event I spoke about is not recent, in fact it can have occured at the end of 2002, but no matter now.
My goal is not to disturb /en/ with my update.
I'll try the new method in following minutes.
